What takes Robbie Williams, Cher, Tom Jones, Bonnie Raitt and numerous other celebs, musicians and a hard core regular crowd to that basement club in Chelsea, the 606, once a month?
Answer: The Hamish Stuart Band!
Recorded over 2 nights in February 2000, "Real Live" takes us on a funky, melodic and soulful journey from '72 to 2000. The band contains some of the hottest, most in-demand players in the UK - Snake Davis (saxes), Ian Thomas (drums), Steve Pearce (bass), Jody Linscott (percussion), Andy Wallace (keyboards) and Adam Phillips (guitar). A great ensemble where everybody gets a chance to shine, like Adam and Ian do back to back on Person to Person, Steve already having made his statement on the intro, Jody adding beautiful colours here and there and Andy and Snake doing the solo honours on Work to Do and Reach You.

"Ideally, I wanted a sort of residency where we could develop quietly without being under the microscope. The 606 Club in Chelsea gave me the opportunity to do this and things really started to come together quickly down in the basement. The vibe is perfect and occasionally the likes of Brian Auger, Hawk Wolinski and Jim Mullen come by and sit in. Recently my old compatriot Dundee Horn, Molly Duncan joined us for an evening."
