The opening title track sets the straight-ahead, swinging
tone of Something’s Gotta Give, an album blending warmth, fun and poignant
reminiscence. Moule offers the listener 14 songs to enjoy, and this
idea of really getting your moneys worth, whilst never sacrificing the quality
of the work, is a nice trend throughout her output. The tunes themselves are a
mix of Fran Landesman /Simon Wallace originals and Johnny Mercer standards from
the great American songbook.
